You will be responsible for managing and optimizing the financial aspects of our DevOps operations, with a focus on cost control, budgeting, and resource allocation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technology expenses with business objectives, ultimately ensuring that our DevOps processes are efficient and cost-effective.
- Cost analysis: Analyse Azure cloud infrastructure and service costs to identify inefficiencies.
- Optimization strategies: Develop strategies for optimizing cloud spending, including rightsizing resources and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Estimation for new applications: Provide estimates to the business for new application setup based on requirements.
- Budget monitoring: Monitor budget utilization and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Contract evaluation: Evaluate cloud service options and contracts to ensure alignment with cost and performance requirements.
- Cost-effective opportunities: Identify opportunities for cost-effective services and technologies.
- Cost Transparency and Automation: Establish cost transparency by providing detailed cost breakdowns to business/finance teams, promote awareness of cost implications in decision-making processes, and develop automation scripts and use FinOps tools to track, manage, and optimize cloud expenses.
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in DevOps practices, with a focus on Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Proficiency in creating and managing infrastructure using Terraform, with a strong emphasis on version control and automation.
- Container Orchestration: In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, including cluster setup, management, and troubleshooting.
- Automation Skills: Demonstrated expertise in Ansible, using it to automate tasks and configurations across multiple environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Circle CI.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and the ability to write automation scripts.
- Experience with monitoring and security tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, and security scanning tools).
